Lyn Blum (edited)

Lyn Blum
My name is Lyn Blum.  My husband Gary and I have been members of the Texas Corvette Association since 2014.  In that time I have held different positions, OAL, Secretary, Membership Chair.  It has been my pleasure to help TCA become a vibrant car club with much to offer members whether it be car shows, Drive & Dines, or other social events.  I plan on making this next year a fun one for everyone with varied activities.  Let’s go 2026!!

We moved to the San Antonio area in May 2025. My wife Tiffany and I were married in April 2025, but our story goes all the way back to growing up in the Quad Cities of Illinois/Iowa in 1988. Tiffany is the CFO for SJRC and has been connected with TCA for many years—an interest I’ve happily fueled with my lifelong Corvette addiction.

We currently own a 2023 70th Anniversary Red Mist Z51 Stingray, and over the years I’ve also owned a 2015 Shark Grey Z51 Stingray and a 1999 black Stingray. My love for Corvettes started at 13, when my dad surprised the family with a “Mammoth Caves” trip that secretly included the Corvette Assembly Plant in Bowling Green—I’ve been hooked ever since.

Our family includes sons Hayden in Billings, MT, Keaton in Chicago, IL, and our daughter Madalyn, who lives with us. I look forward to meeting more TCA members in this role. Be good to yourself!

I’ve been a member of the TCA Corvette club for several years. I have owned nine Corvettes over the past 53 years and I currently own a 2021 Z51 coupe. I developed interest in cars at an early age, helping my dad with maintenance on our family vehicles. Growing up in the muscle car era I was awestruck by the C2 Corvette, especially the big blocks. My first Corvette was a 14,000-mile 1965 coupe purchased in 1971 and owned for the next 25 years. Beverly and I met street racing in 1971 and quickly became friends. Life events took us in different directions but fate brought us back together in 1997. Over the years, we have owned 13 Corvettes. Drive and dines and the TCA car show are the events I like best.

My wife, Caron, and I have been married for 47 years and have lived in The San Antonio area since 1984, we currently live in Fair Oaks Ranch. We have been blessed with two lovely daughters, two fine sons-in-law, and three wonderful granddaughters. I retired from Hydraulic Supply & Service Company in May of 2019. I got my first Corvette a few months before retirement as a present to myself - a 2003 50th Anniversary convertible. We joined TCA shortly after and have totally enjoyed getting to know the fine people in this group. We now own a 2019 Elkhart Lake Blue Grand Sport. We joined TCA for the cars and stayed for the people and we look forward to meeting and getting to know more of you in the months and years to come.

I have been part of God’s family since 1973. I have served as a shepherd at the Kerrville Church of Christ for 20 years and retired after 40 years as a custom home builder in Kerrville—now proudly watching his sons carry on the work, building beautiful, energy-efficient high-end homes. Widowed in 2020 after 41 wonderful years of marriage. Excited to be part of TCA and looking forward to leading a great Hill Country drive and dine soon!

After an incredible 45-year career in the commercial real estate industry, I’ve recently retired to enjoy life at a different pace. I’ve been married to my amazing wife, Cindy, for 45 years, and together we’ve raised two wonderful kids, Jeff and Lauren. Outside of family and work, I’ve always had a passion for Corvettes. My first was a 2001 C5 in Torch Red, and today I’m cruising in a 2019 C7 Z06, also in Torch Red (of course!).

I have been a Corvette fan since first seeing one in the 1950s, and an owner since purchasing my first shortly after leaving active duty in the U.S. Navy. That car was a 1967 Goodwood Green L79 convertible with rare export paperwork, delivered to my hometown dealer through a special GM program for Vietnam and other overseas veterans. I still own that car and have been fortunate to own several others over the years, including the 1995 and 2002 Indy Pace Cars, which hold a special place for me.

I joined TCA in May 1992, when the club consisted of just a handful of members meeting on Broadway at Good Time Charlie’s. Much of my professional career was spent in Latin America, where I worked in leadership development with foreign executives, and my children were born in Mexico.

In 2007 I was working at Freddie’s, and the club had an event that stopped there where I met Mary Hail. She had me sit in her corvette and I went home that evening and told my husband, Michael, we needed to get a corvette! We looked at them on a computer and, I didn’t know it at the time, but he was letting me build the corvette of my dreams and he surprised me with it on December 2007, a day after our anniversary. We’ve been married 32 years now and we’ve been members of TCA since February 2008. We’ve owned a 2003 torch red ZO6, and my baby, a 2008 atomic orange convertible. My favorite TCA events are car shows where I get to talk with people who like cars. This is where I learn the most on how to detail my baby! I also like the drive and dine events, after all, that is how I was introduced to corvettes.

My wife, Margi, and I moved to San Antonio in 1973 to purchase Rennert World Travel. After 28 years as a travel agent, we retired in 2002 and acquired the Texas franchise for Woodcraft. My passion for Corvettes began early, with my second Corvette being a 1962 Fawn Beige convertible with a hardtop, which I purchased in 2012. Since then, we have owned a C7 and currently drive a 2022 C8.R. We joined the Texas Corvette Association (TCA) in 2012 and have been active members ever since. For the past three years, I have served as the Co-Chairman of The TCA Open Car Show. Currently, I hold the position of TCA Officer at Large and serve as the Ambassador to the National Corvette Museum in Bowling Green, Kentucky.

Growing up in the small Texas town of Brenham cars and cruising was the major activity after eating Blue Bell Ice Cream.  Cruising the “Circuit” was the thing to do because there wasn’t much else available.  As a young boy I would sit on the front steps of our home and watch the cars drive by….over and over….waiting for the day I could drive and join in the spectacle.   Cindy and I moved to Blanco full-time in August ’23 after retiring from the Houston/Clear Lake area.  Our first Corvette was Cindy’s 1990 C4 coupe.  In June of ’23 we purchased a White Pearl Metallic 70th Anniversary Z51 Stingray Coupe and joined the TCA in December ’23.

We have enjoyed attending the Ron Fellows driving school, the 30th Annual Caravan, Open Car Show, Dine and Drives and making new friends.

Officers at Large are responsible for notifying members under their leadership of all club events. They represent their members at the Board of Directors meetings as active participants. OALs plan club happenings, encourage continued active club membership and participation in club activities.
